What Is The Purpose Of Investigating The Signs Of The Reappearance Of The Awaited Imam AlMahdi (AJ)?
According to the narratives, piety is the foundation of deliverance from the horrible events which will fill the earth with injustice and oppression. An aspect of piety is to surrender to the will of Allah, (E H), even if we do not comprehend its present benefits for us now. Allah ordered us to follow his Messenger (S), who does not talk out of whims; who in turn ordered us to follow the Imams of his Ahlulbayt (People of the Prophetic House) (AS) after being certain about what has been ascribed to them. The Messenger of Allah (S) and the Imams of his Ahlulbayt (People of the Prophetic House) elaborated in describing the signs of the reappearance and ordered us to know them, in order to safeguard ourselves from the trials of the end of time, which will sift us deeply, and shake our belief.
It is clear that knowing the causes of the horror that will happen, which no reasoning can sustain and makes the believers think that their belief is a legend of the ancients, and knowing their illuminating outcome is the strongest weapon in the hands of the believers for endurance and steadfastness. Don’t we know that Moses (AS), the prophet of Allah, did not tolerate what actions were made by AlKhidr (AS), which are mentioned in surat: "Alkahf"?
Our knowledge of the properties of the signs, and the horrors of what is going to happen, and their inevitable consequences, shall protect us; and this is what the Messenger of Allah (S) and the Imams of Ahlulbayt (People of the Prophetic House) (AS) have all ordered us to do, and we do not have any other choice. Naturally, that should be coupled with actions, preparations, and getting lessons; for they are not just stories.
Some researchers and clerics say that signs should not be relied upon because of doubts about the validity of the texts, their accuracy, or their distortion for several reasons, and therefore we must ignore them, since there is a text that God will fix his affairs in one night! And they interpreted it as his appearance without prior signs, but rather suddenly!
From Ali, peace be upon him, he said: From the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him (
The Mahdi is from us, Ahl al-Bayt, God will reform him in a night / God will fix his affairs for him in a night.).
From Ibn Abi Shaybah: 15/197, with two narrations on the authority of Ali, similar to that of Ahmad: 1/84, and similarly by Ibn Hammad: 1/362, with two narrations and Bukhari’s history: 1/317, as the second narration of Ibn Hammad on the authority of Ali, peace be upon him, and Ibn Majah: 2/ 1367, as Ibn Shaybah, on the authority of Ali, peace be upon him, and Abu Ya’la: 1/359, on the authority of Ibn Shaybah, and Hilyat al-Awliya: 3/177, as in Ibn Shaybah, with a slight discrepancy, on the authority of Ali, peace be upon him, and the news of Isfahan: 1/17, and Al-Shafi’i said in Al-Bayan / 487: The joining of these chains of narration to one another, and the memorization of that in their books necessitates defining its validity. And Ibn Katheer in Al-Fitan: 1/38 tended to document it, and Al-Suyuti said in Al-Durr Al-Manthoor: 6/58: Ibn Abi Shaybah, Ahmad and Ibn Majah included it. Narrated by Al-Jami Al-Saghir: 2/672, and classed as hasan. And Raqqat al-Mafatih: 5/18, and in it: from Ahl al-Bayt, and he said: that is, he reforms his affairs and raises his destiny in one night or in one hour of the night, where the people of the solution and the contract agree on his succession. Al-Maghribi / 533, and he said: It is a good hadith, as al-Hafiz said, and it was narrated by: Dala’il al-Imamah / 247, on the authority of Ali, peace be upon him, as in Ibn Abi Shaybah. And in Kamal Al-Din: 1/152..
It was narrated from Imam Jaafar Al-Sadiq, peace be upon him, that he said to some of his companions (
Be what you do not hope for, please what you hope for. Moses Ibn Imran, peace be upon him, went out to burn fire for his family, so he returned to them as a messenger prophet, so God, Blessed and Exalted be He, fixed the affairs of His servant and His Prophet, Moses, peace be upon him, in one night. This is how God, the Blessed and Exalted, does
with Alq'em, the twelfth standing of the Imams, peace be upon them. He corrects his affairs in one night, just as he corrected the affairs of his Prophet Moses, and brings him out of confusion and occultation to the light of relief and reappearance.).

The Awaited Imam AlMahdi said (
It was not for one of my forefathers (peace be upon them) that did not sign an oath of allegiance to the tyrant of his time on his neck, and I will
appear when I do, and there will be no oath of allegiance to any of the despots on my neck.).
Behaar Alamwar 53/181 and Muntakhib Al'athar 267.
The interpretation of the above text that the appearance of the Awaited Imam Al-Mahdi, may God be pleased with him, will be sudden, does not correspond to logic, because how will we know the real Imam from the imposters?
And you will see in the results of this research that the eclipse of Gabriel, peace be upon him, with the army of Al-Sufyani in the desert of Al-Madinah, which the Awaited Imam Al-Mahdi, may God be pleased with him, was afraid of, will be on the night of 9/10 of Muharram, that is, the night of Ashura, the reappearance, and this means that God will fix his affairs in a night!
As it was mentioned in the texts that the
Awaited Imam Mahdi, may God be pleased with him, does not pledge
allegiance on his neck to any authority.
That is, he does not carry any identification documents issued by an official authority of a country that lists his name, his father’s name, and his lineage Al-Hashemi, which originally Muslims differ about even his name, because linguistically (his name coincides with my name) does not mean identical, but rather similar! That is, his name is not exclusively Muhammad, but also something similar to it, such as Ahmed, Mahmoud, and Woo..as well as his father's name!
Muslims waste valuable time and effort in such discussions, as if we were going to demand the identity of the
Imam when he appears! Which, if he had an identification card, would not be recognized by a large section of Muslims, whatever its content, as it would match the sources of one group of them and contradict another, or vice versa.
So how will we know the Awaited Imam AlMahdi, may He be exalted, without signs that precede him, shaking people for the next event?! This does not mean that we should not wait for the reappearance at all times and pray for its hastening, but we should always expect it with its signs.
Even the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family, preceded his birth by the appearance of a comet (the star of Ahmed), which the Prophet Moses, pbuh, informed his people of the sign of the birth of the Messenger about 2000 years before his birth. Signs remained despite the Jews distorting the Torah and hiding part of it!
We have signs that precede the advent of the Awaited Imam AlMahdi, may God bless him and grant him peace, which the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, informed us of 1400 years ago. Let us
observe for its fullfilment perhaps it will be in our time, as it contains a lot of authentic things, just as God Almighty preserved the texts of
the star of Ahmad and the star of Bethlehem!
The aims of this open investigation are:
To determine the signs of the reappearance and their sequence of occurrence, in order to recognize them when they occur.
To be prepared for the last phase of human life, when there will be no room for repentance.
To protect ourselves from the horrible tragedies which will precede the reappearance: injustice, oppression, terrible death, wars, killing, epidemics, famine, high prices, earth quakes, hurricanes, chilliness, and floods.

To safeguard ourselves from the arbitrary timers, from the liars, and from those who claim to be the Mahdi.

To collaborate with other investigators of different specializations, sects, and ethnicities, to corroborate the investigation with sources and various points of view, in order to arrive at the reality of the properties of the signs.
